The CIMA Social Justice Award was established in 2018 to spotlight efforts by cinematic works, individual filmmakers, industry professionals or organizations that make an impact for the social good. The award is traditionally presented in the spring as part of the annual film showcase at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
